USANA Social Media Tip #4: Connecting With RESET Week

Welcome to 2010, a new year filled with exciting opportunities to help you take your USANA business to the next level.

One of those opportunities — RESET Week 2010 — is just around the corner (Jan. 11-15). It's a five-day, global event that is sure to get 2010 started right. And, by the way, it's a great event to share and promote via social media. If you're unfamiliar with RESET Week 2010, check out the details here.

Since this is the latest installment in the USANA Social Media Tip series, I wanted to jot down a few ways in which you could use social media to promote this event (and others like it), while also energizing your team and ideally boosting your USANA business.

Spread the Word
Anyone can participate, so you'll want to make sure your Facebook friends, Twitter followers, and/or blog readers know about the event (unfortunately, not everyone reads What's Up, USANA. Sad, I know). Also, make sure you and your friends are ready to go with your RESET kits.

Consider a simple post that's informative and helps build excitement. Maybe something like this:
  • Holidays (and holiday eating) are over. Excited for USANA's RESET Week (Jan. 11-15)! Who's with me? Details: http://bit.ly/8cOzcl
Or this:
  • It's a New Year and I'm ready to get fit in 2010! RESET Week (Jan. 11-15) is a great place to start. Who's with me? http://bit.ly/8cOzcl
Share Your Experience
Do you have a personal story to tell about RESET? Or how about tying RESET into a "start the new year off right" message to friends on Facebook? For example, put together a list of five things you want to accomplish this year, and make sure one of them involves maintaining your health (everybody should strive for this anyway, right)?

Here's one way to do it:
  1. Write a short Facebook Note explaining what RESET is, how it's benefited you personally or how you plan to use it to help maintain your health in 2010.
  2. Post it on your wall for your friends to see.
  3. Even better, use the "share" function to pass it along to a handful of friends who are genuinely interested in hearing about your experiences with RESET. Be careful not to send it to everyone, lest it come across as spam.
  4. Copy and paste the Facebook Note link into a tweet and share it with your Twitter followers.
Or, if you have a blog, simply write about your experience there and promote it on Facebook and Twitter. We do that all the time and it works great.

Follow Up
You'll want to keep the momentum rolling throughout the week and beyond. If you're participating in RESET Week 2010, keep your friends and followers in the loop by regularly updating them via your blog, Facebook, and Twitter. Hint: Post the daily fitness tips from Celebrity Trainer and new USANA spokesperson Kathy Kaehler (read more below).

I'm guessing you'll get some great comments to your posts. Once the week is over, follow up with the folks who commented and continue the dialog. Did they participate in RESET Week 2010? If so, what are their thoughts? What worked/didn't work? What exercises did they incorporate into the program?

Keeping the lines of communication open allows you the opportunity to explain the benefits of other USANA products your social network may be interested in.

Social Media Resources
USANA has created a few resources relating to RESET Week 2010 that we encourage you to share with your social media followers.
